The West Springfield HS boundary is located near the intersection of I-495 (the Capital Beltway) and I-95, near the impressive Springfield Interchange. Aside from access to these major thoroughfares, the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) – a commuter train – is accessible near the north-end of the boundary; plus, the Franconia-Springfield Metro station is a short ride away to the East.

However, accessible transportation isn’t what makes West Springfield special. Its many parks located within a small area make this boundary an attractive option for people who love living close to nature.

The largest park inside the boundary is Pohick Creek Stream Valley Park, and attached to it one can find Orange Hunt Estates Park and West Springfield Village Park.

Smaller parks such as Royal Ridge, Carrleigh Parkway, Greentree Village, Hunter Village, Rolling Forest, West Springfield, Middle Run, Huntsman Park (and Lake), and Middle Run Stream Valley Park round up an impressive 14+ parks within a 2-mile radius.
